flyrodman Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Have you had any experience with these http://www.feather-craft.com/wecs.php?store=feacraft&action=display&target=GD009 ? It would be sweet to have an extra pound of tippet protection. Luke Walz
timsfly Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Shock gum is good stuff, especially good if your fishing a quick action(fast) (stiff) 4,5, or 6 wt makes using 8-6X easier with these types of rods, I've sold the stuff for years, good for bass fisherman that pick up a fly rod a couple of times a year Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
stlfisher Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I use them and I think they are worth it. I have a fast action rod so I can snap off with really light tippets if I am not careful and I think this helps protect my tippet on those overzealous hook sets. One thing I have noticed is they last me about 3 or 4 months and then I need to change it...so I usually by 3 or 4 at a time and carry them in my pack. For 1.95 I think they are worth it.

Another question, have you tried feathercraft tippet ? http://www.feather-craft.com/wecs.php?store=feacraft&action=display&target=GD006 Luke Walz

In my opinon it is great stuff and you get more yardage per spool than with other brands. Scott

So you actually get 50 yds of material per spool? How does this compare to Orvis' Mirage tippet? Luke Walz
