Current projections of the effect of global warming on freshwater fish include the following:

I dont trust 5 day projections of the weather, much less 90 year ones.

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

That's your right, Muddy. But you should realize that the data and science being used to project 90 years is different from what's used for the 5 day projections.

You should also realize that the projections made a little over a decade ago for your region of the country called for generally higher temperatures, more intense and less frequent rain events and all of that has born out to be true.

So you're free stick to your skepticism and maybe you have more pressing things that climate to deal with just now, but the people who are telling you we've got a problem have a much better record than your weatherman.

Climate- The weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period.

Weather- The state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, cloudiness, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.

I do at the moment(baby due any day), but that isnt the issue.

Are the same people that are telling us now about impending doom the same ones that told us that in the 70s we would all freeze to death?

BTW, I am not attempting to argue climate change. Climate change IS real, if for no other reason than the great quote "the only thing constant is change"

The view that global average temperatures would decline in the immediate future was never a majority view in climate science at any time.

So we don't disagree about much here. The temperatures go up and down, but in the short term they're going up and there are going to be consequences of that.

It's good to see us starting to get ready for the change.

Phil has made it pretty clear that personal attacks led to that policy and there have been numerous climate change posts that stayed civil and weren't censored since that policy began. If you want the topic shut down you might need to find another strategy.

A lot of people on this forum are members of B.A.S.S. and the other groups supporting that site.

It's not likely Phil or Dano are going to censor simple information from and about groups important to outdoor sports.

Sorry if I rubbed you the wrong way. I wasn't trying to get the topic shut down either, I was just hoping the topic wouldn't go south. Thank you for the Information too!

The fault's probably mine for expecting every comment to be negative, FRM.

It's good to see that some practical steps are being supported by mainline sporting groups. Maybe we're getting past the knucklehead phase of this problem and we can finally focus on how to handle policy.

You know what I think "Threatens Wildlife"? Poaching and disregard for wildlife code. This climate business is a dead issue in a crappy economy. Beat that drum in a different decade.
