Anyone have any info for fishing below the park?? Where the access is, how to get there, etc. I was down on sunday and drove to Eagle Rock and noticed a large gravel parking lot on the right not far after passing the "leaving RR state park" sign. Is this a decent place to try? I went back through some old threads but didnt find much info on it.

A lot of years they catch trout as far down as 86 in the winter.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

That is a good place to start, but don't go upstream from there or your fishing zone 3 and you'll be breaking the law.

You can fish downstream all the way to the lake and your fine. No fishing in zone 3 during the winter nov. thru the last day

of febuary.

When Cozy Acres campground was still open, they would allow you to access the river on their property (I would just pay them a camping fee), but I see where there was a real estate auction for that place a while back. I asked about it on this forum and apparently nobody knows anything about it or didn't see my thread.

Well... here's my "Merry Christmas" to you...

PM me if you'd like to know the spots below the the park to try. They're not that big of a secret. But you'll catch fish. Or should...

Quick question - can you fish outside the park any old time you want ???? Any day or time or season ?

It doesn't have to be a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday does it ?

Just once I wish a trout would wink at me!

whats the public access situation like down there. I waded from the conservation parking lot down to the bridge by the cemetary. There is a barbwire fence across the river near the cemetary and I just stepped over it and kept going. I was about to get out of the water anyway and walk back up the road to the conservation parking lot. I did notice at the bridge by the cemetary there is another barb wire fence right against it blocking downstream access. I assume you could go over it if you wanted. Wasnt sure what the private property situation is there. I know in AR, as long as you didnt cross private property to get to the river you arent tresspassing, no one owns the river bed so thats public property. I wasnt sure if Missouri was the same or not?? Anyone have any idea?

From the way I understand it Arkansas is a riparian rights state, Missouri is not. So in Missouri this means you can float a stream but as soon as you touch the bottom of the stream with your foot you are trespassing. I was not aware of this until recently, an MDC employee informed me of this. Still not sure though, just does not seem right to me that someone could own a stream.

I fished the Muncie Cemetery area for years and I don’t think you would have any issues as long as you weren’t trashing the place up. Folks go in there and dump trash and or leave their beer cans scattered around. It was a popular place to have beer and pot parties, so they put up signs. It’s not just kids either that cause the problems.
