mizzouflyfisher Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 I think you get some fish that have slower growth rates and some fish that are just old. You can really tell at the trout parks when they release the old fish that were used as brood stock-their bodies are totally out of proportion. I don't know a lot about trout metabolism or growth rates, but I'm sure they differ. Just a couple of thoughts. Mizzouflyfisher
motroutbum Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 First off...that fish looks fine to me. second of all, whirling diesease affects younger trout. they would see it in the hatchery first. the fish infected with WD would look like they have a broken back. and they would be swimming in circles.
