Have not fished this week, but the past week was rather slow. I only fish from one dock, so it may not be a true indicator of how things are. Fish were deep and slow during those windy days. In a boat with several options, you should do ok.

I fished Thursday and ended a day with a limit. Fished out of PB2. Crappie were suspended over brushpiles anywhere from 13 foot down to 30 foot. Used 1/16 and 1/8 ounce pink and white marabou jigs.

Also used 3/8 ounce jiggin spoons, and did suprisingly well on crappie, whites and hybrids. Used spoons when fish were found around shad schools.

Well, things have not improved much this week. I have only caught 11 off the dock in the past three days. On the plus side, this morning I caught a 2lb 10oz black crappie. That is a personal best for me. I think I will trout fish the remainder of the week, trout are a lot less likely to be tight lipped like these winter time crappie.

Grats on the big slab. Sure would like to have seen it. What area of the lake is your dock? I have been fishing mainly off the docks at the Alhonna resort over by four seasons. I am very curious what time of day you have been getting bites and how are the water temps right now. Also how deep are you getting bites.Thanx for the updates and for any more info you can give. Good luck fishin and be careful out there.

Thanks, my dock is at the 5 mile marker of the big niangua, owens point. I caught this fish at 8:30 am but most have been coming in the afternoon. We are fishing 16 to 22 foot brush and just skimming the tops. When the wind blows, the black crappie have been suspended at about 10 feet. I think the water temp was 43 today. Fishing was very slow yesterday and today. I got one last year, on the same dock, that went 2lb 5oz. Crappie that size are too big for my taste, so I always put them back for seed.
