Started out nice and finnished nice, great day to be fishing in january, 68 for a high over here, can't imagine anybody was inside today, unless you had to work :)

I worked my 3, 3hr days this week and I was ready to fish today.

Started off this morning using a small egg, caught about 7 in the Falls Hole, walked my way down the east side of the river towards the old CCC lodge, caught about 10 more on a #18 griffiths gnat, I was fishing my 0 wt bamboo so I was fishing mostly small fiies, got down by the low water

bridge in front of the CCC lodge saw a big one so I thought why not give it a go, well I hooked her, a nice 11 pound trout, got her on a #18 chamois fly 1 #4 shot and 6X tippet, took me about 5 minutes to get her to the net, we took a pic or two and sent her on her way.

I figured it couldn't get much better today, so I took the chamois off and put a dry on and spent a few more hrs catching trout on #20 blue wing olive parachute, pretty good day on the water, I switched back to 7X when I was fishing the dry, but it was a good day to finish out the january portion of C&R in Roaring River State park.

I'll try to get a pic up of the 11 pound trout as soon as Roger sends it to me :)

Man Tim, sounds great. I am soo ready to get down there and chase em. I'm one of those unlucky souls that had to work yesterday. It wasn't quite as warm here north of KC but great weather non-the less. T minus 10 days..... Please don't give em all sore mouth so they will still be willing to take my fly :have-a-nice-day:
