Went out Sat. Evening for awhile by myself. Ran into a Striper Guide coming off the water at 12 Bridge. I talked to him, and he said there are alot of stripers in the area between Prairie Creek and Coose and around the North Sides of the Islands. And also around the main point East of the Islands. On the south side of the lake. It would be the point straight across the lake from Pebble Beach. Anyhow I did locate stripers although I did not fish for them much. Then I fished from the mouth of Coose toward the marina. After awhile I ran across some good activity on the fish finder. Lots of shad and some bigger fish moving around. So I pulled out a jiggin spoon and went to work. I probably got to fish about 30 minutes like that before it got dark managed to pull in two big whites. I wish I had gotten lined up on that spot earlier I might have caught myself a good mess. Water temp was about 47.

Thanks for the report. Unless we get a heck of a cold snap, it sure doesn't look like we're going to get a shad kill this year. Been an odd winter so far, fishing-wise.

Jeb run up into Montne and look at the massive number of shad in the back. These are small 1 to 2'' shad. I think you are right and we wont have the kill off. I fully expect within 3 to 4 weeks to see a topwater bite of the insane preportion if we continue with this weather pattern.

We saw huge bunches of those small shad in the Clifty arm recently, too. Bass should get fat this year with no kill off! I'm already starting to see some surface activity, like you say. Might have to bust out a Pop'r.
