straw hat Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I noticed that the corp website showes that this rain has brought up the water temps at the dam as well as the incoming streams. 42 (up from 40) at the dam and 43 (up from 41 in big Sac. The walleye should start moving pretty soon now,
ozarkgunner Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Anyone been getting any walleye on jerkbaits? Angler At Law
Members Lead Head Posted February 4, 2012 Members Posted February 4, 2012 I caught two Thursday while crappie fishing under shad schools in a creek chanel at 4o feet deep. One keeper and a short both on jigs. Had a nice limit of crappie and enjoyed a perfect February day. There were also several nice size white bass mixed in. The stickbait bite has been terrible for me this winter.
ozarkgunner Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Thanks for the info. I love fishing jerkbaits. Even with a tough bite I can't put it down. Angler At Law

Skeeter ZX190 Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I was out last Thursday before the rain and the water temp in the dam area was 44 to 45 degrees. Fished a jerkbait quite a bit but never caught any walleye. I figure they are still pretty deep because there wasn't much wind. Should be moving up though in the next couple of weeks.
