Chief Grey Bear Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I haven't followed the threads on the A-rig real close but saw this today and thought I would pass it on. http://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/only-three-hooked-lures-allowed-alabama-rigs-missouri Chief Grey Bear Living is dangerous to your health Owner Ozark Fishing Expeditions Co-Owner, Chief Executive Product Development Team Jerm Werm Executive Pro Staff Team Agnew Executive Pro Staff Paul Dallas Productions Executive Pro Staff Team Heddon, River Division Chief Primary Consultant Missouri Smallmouth Alliance Executive Vice President Ronnie Moore Outdoors
Idylwilde Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 The boy's in MDC Jefferson City have been busy haven't they. LOL Not many bass anglers out of the MDC Central office are they? Take a Child Fishing they are the future of the sport.
MoSportsmen Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 from the article " Also, an umbrella rig is not in itself considered a lure, because it is incapable of catching fish unless lures or baits are attached to it." I would think if you would make the connection from the wire to the lure permanent then the rig would become one lure capable of catching fish on its own. Attach lures with O rings and swivels instead of snap swivels. I think they are spliting hairs applying these rules to this method. I have a feeling the A-rig would not ever cause a fish management problem by making it too easy to catch fish. But then again, one thing the MDC has gong for it is laws in place for just about anything that may come up now or in the future and if something comes along that does not fit they figure out a way to either alow it or not. ie. air guns of a certian caliber alowed for deer hunting. I will bet we have not heard the end of this. Tom Messing about in boats

Tom So then it would be 1 lure with 5 hooks lol... bet the judge would have fun with that one and someone will see it and try it just because they can. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
soggyfeet Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I'm pretty sure that there is a agent or two on these boards that would be able to answer this. As soon as I read this I thought remove the swivels and make it permanent but I dont want to break or even bend the rules and would like to know if that is possiable. Also since you are allowed 3 lines does that mean you cna have 3 poles with A rigs with 3 hooks each? Brian
