Members wenonah31 Posted February 29, 2012 Members Posted February 29, 2012 Does anyone know if the gentleman just below McCord bend still grants river access for $3? I had heard that he sold the place to someone else and they were not granting access. Thanks. David
duckydoty Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 drove by there a couple of days ago and the road was gated and locked A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I've heard that it's closed also. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Fishslayer88 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 3 dollar holler lol i like that.. and yes longs camp is closed sadly i don't know for sure why it was closed but but the gate is up and locked : ( if you are looking for another access to launch or fish at you may try walnut springs, but if you do make sure to park in the parking lot, some of the people living around there think they are the only people who deserve to use that launch and dock and they have been known to have vehicles towed away for parking along the road.
Jack Jones Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 Okay....that's a plan. Now please share where this Walnut Springs is? "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Members wenonah31 Posted March 1, 2012 Author Members Posted March 1, 2012 Thanks for the info. That is what I was afraid of. It will save me some driving, when I now have to stop at blunks.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 I think its at the end of Samaritan road, if I'm not mistaken? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Fishslayer88 Posted March 1, 2012 Posted March 1, 2012 samaritan road is longs camp. its off 173 like if you were going to cape fair then turn left (if you are coming from galena area) on to walnut springs dr. follow that all the way down to james river rd. make another left and then its your next right going down the the river, there is a conservation sign, a ramp, and a small dock. you may wanna mapqest or google map it the road is pretty easy to miss
