You realize that the Alabama Rig isn't a bait, right? Oh well, if you want to use it in Missouri, use the appropriate number of hooks. It is illegal to use all five. Also, in Kansas, the legal limit is 2, so that negates this setup again. Please enlighten us on the silver lining of this cast or trolled trotline. Tell us why we are closed minded to something like this other than the fact that it isn't, IMO, completely sporting.

I guess your name isn't too far off judging from your lack of veiled insults at people who disagree with the Alabama Rig

Psst staged picture... 5 smallies on that rig all hooked in the exact same place... Three other ods clearly visable..... Trolling motor not down... And he is even giving us all the bird.

Ive thrown that thing enough to know you aint fitting 5 fish of that size on the A-rig first off one of the other hooks will snag the first fish on it and second the spread on the rig is to small the second fish would be impaled by multiple hooks as well. You " MAY" manage to get three, but 5 smallies that size I seriously doubt it combined with other elemints of the picture.

It's obviously a photoshopped pic I got off the net...relax

You claim to want the facts out there about this rig, yet use a fake picture? Hmm, maybe I was right.

You point out the pros, yet refuse to acknowledge the cons. You did insult people, but that's fine. Use your 7 posts for something constructive rather than stirring the pot. You keep calling this a lure. It is NOT a darn lure. It is terminal tackle, deemed illegal already in a few places. Can you cast it? I suppose if you are using a catfish rig, you could lob it, but it will take the fun out of the fishing experience. Where did I say it is unfair? I said it is unsporting, much like hunting turkey with a shotgun at close range.

KU does suck, but Missouri only allows three hooks, so there isn't much difference there. You cannot tell me that you want to go fish with all five hooks set up on it in Missouri. If you do, you deserve the fines.

I have a sense of humor, but when someone calls their post the Pros of the A Rig and proceeds to say, "So go ahead and hate if you want...but in my opinion the people that are upset or against this thing are perhaps being a little bit selfish, and a little blinded to the mostly silver lining this bait has created," their opinion has become null and void with calling people selfish and blind. Thank you, hope you can learn to read your own posts before you decide to tell someone they are wrong.

Drew, the guy is making a case for the rig, not insulting anyone. Fairly rational post. He never referred to the pic which is obviously a fake. Chill. He likes the rig and its impact on the lake economies around the state. If you don't, that's fine.

I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

Welcome to the forum DBAG, most folks here are friendly. There are a few cyber-toughs here, but you get that everywhere you go on the net these days... it's the new road rage I guess.

I hope you are definitely legal. My main issue now that I look back on it was that we had put this issue to bed and your first post is about the Alabama Rig. If it tickles your fancy, I am happy.

Drew, You know dang well I use it and in many threads pointed out its just another tool in the box. Even pointing out it doesnt always work. I can pinpoint cast it and lob it and even have a way to slow work it on the bottom. I know how you feel about it and respect your view. But it is not unsporting no more than using electronics are or the hydro or so many other forms of technologial improvements.

Now staged pictures always rub me wrong as they give the flase impressions.

Has the A-rig been a boom for the economy of bait shops? WITHOUT A DOUBT YES!

Does it make anglers equal? NO WAY!

Does it catch alot of fish? It did this winter but its quickly becoming a bust

See what not getting a day of striper chasing does sheeshhh
