Fishrman Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Water was in low 60's today, fished with a buddy of mine in the White River, left Kings for awhile it has not been that good to me lately. Finished the day with 29 keepers, had #30 on a few times, but seemed to always get away. Most of the fish we caught were in staging areas today they were high in the water column over deeper water. Caught some really biguns today, just unreal. Good luck when you get to go.
Members ARweyes Posted March 18, 2012 Members Posted March 18, 2012 We found the same thing in the Long Creek arm today. We put in at 4pm and finished at 7 with 32. Sounds like your on a bigger bite however. The Arkansas fish in my experience run smaller. We found the fish again out prestaged mostly but water temp is 63 to 65. We primarily threw roadrunners and kept them 2 to 5 feet deep and the fish are still in standing structure. Some guys at the dock said they were catching them on the bank but nothing large enough to brag about. The 2 young guys I took today had a blast.
Seth Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Thats the same thing we experienced in the Flat Creek arm of the James River. Lots of nice keepers and very few short fish hanging about 15' off the bank near brush. Definitely the best crappie fishing we have experienced down there.
Fishrman Posted March 18, 2012 Author Posted March 18, 2012 One more thing I forgot to post, did see some beds yesterday, about 5 total. Did not see any roaming, but the beds were there.
Hunter91 Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 We fished around Bridgeport this afternoon and ended with 15 keepers only caught three or four short fish. All our fish were in 5 to 15 fow on some kind of structure on swimmin minnows.
