Members walker04 Posted March 18, 2012 Members Posted March 18, 2012 Wife and kids are wanting to do an overnight camping trip this week, was hoping to get some fishing tips for this area. I don't fly fish and noticed a lot of people do in that area. We are stayijng at the Red Beard Ranch, north of Lebnon. Any advise would be welcomed.
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Don't get he idea that flyfishing is the only game in town. Take the kids to BSSP with their spinning rods, but on the way stop at Weavers (a little east of the upper park entrance) and buy some marabou jigs in Yellow/black, white and what else they recommend. In the park take them to the Whistle bridge and the area below the dam and let them have some fun. They can also fish the river in front of RB. If you don't keep any trout in the river no one will need trout stamps. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
oneshot Posted March 19, 2012 Posted March 19, 2012 If you want to fish for Trout in the River,Lt .Action Rod and Reel,4# Test Line,#12 or #14 Treble Hooks, couple Split Shot,White or Orange Power Bait.. Trout Permit $7,Kids 15 and Under $3.50. oneshot
