I read an article where the author said he preferred to tie and fish woolly buggers made from peacock instead of man made materials. So, I tried some. Wow, I think this guy might be right. I even tied a couple with flash along the body and you can barely see it because the peacock is so vivid. Anyway tiers, you might try a couple. Wrap with ten or so, but before wrapping the hook, wrap your tying thread around hearl to make it a little tougher.

should post some pics

Sorry, I gave them to a buddy of mine to try out, and I don't have the article. However, it is an easy build. I used a #10 streamer hook, gold beadhead, lead wrap, flash of your choice in the tail, grizzly olive marabou tail, grizzly olive hackle (mine was from a bugger pack), eight to ten strands of peacock wrapped with your black thread and spun forward to the bead, wrap the hackle, and tie off. I think black tail and hackle would work just fine also.

I didn't get a report yet, but I'll let you know.

Well, my buddy wasn't able to use them... so I took them back. I tried them out yesterday, and the blue gill and two crappie were nailing them. Sorry no pics, lost both of them to the trees.

There are lots of materials to use for bugger bodies. Besides peacock, ostrich and floss both come to mind. Ostrich has some nice movement and floss stays vibrant and easy to dress up with wire or tisel

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
