Lifes2Short Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I had sent a note to the folks up at Stockton wanting some information and this is what they sent me. What a crazy spring it is this year when the lake is up 10 degrees over this time last year! Good Morning Thanks for your interest in Stockton Lake. I think one of the best sources for lake level information is at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/current/?type=lake&group_key=NONE You can click on Stockton Lake and get current level and also some historical data is available through this website. As far as Lake temps - we keep track of it here at the office and keep records - but it is not generally posted to a website. 3/23/11 the Lake temp was 43 degrees. Today 3/23/12 the Lake temp is 53. These readings are taken at the surface near the face of the dam. The lake temp varies quite a lot across the lake - shallower water, darker bottoms, along rock outcroppings, etc. Another good source for lake levels, scheduled releases, etc. is at http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/WaterManagement/index.cfm Thanks again for your interest in Stockton Lake. I hope you have many SAFE and enjoyable visits. Feel free to contact us - if you have more questions. Rod Hendricks Stockton Project Office phone 417 276 3113
zarraspook Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 That is good info to know... Local readings are taken and sent to KC District office and then District post them on all the Lake's info page; that are under the KC office... http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/st/daily.cfm "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
