405z06 Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 beautiful markings on that fish after spending some time in the clear water of a livewell/tank. didn't see in the article what the previous record was. Biggest I've caught is 8 lbs, and that was in Florida, which is no big deal.
Chief Grey Bear Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I released them both very shortly after capture, spending some time moving them back and forth until they swam off on their own. I never have been a big fan of moving it back and forth. I mean can you imagin after just fighting for your life and you are trying to catch your breath, you are being jerked back and forth. I know we think it is best for the fish to get some water moving over his gills. I just think it is better, and less stress on the fish to just release it and let it dive to the bottom to rest. And I think age and size plays a big role in this.
