Egg patterns will work all year long, but sept-march I seem to have my best luck at taney, I use them here at Roaring River all year long, and catch some pretty big fish on egg patterns, I tie them as small as #22's and as big as a #6 for taney. Good luck.

The Johnson's in Baldwin MI. had a neat double egg pattern. I could never tie it, but it was effective.

Phil, do you know the one I'm talking about? The one with one egg tied on mono?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I really like the unreal egg pattern. You can find the recipe posted here. It has a bead, so it stays close to the bottom, and if tied with antron or something similar, is pretty tough. Plus it is easy to tie.
