Jack Jones Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 You're on a lake/river without a boat. You've got plent of shoreline to fish from. Your equipment is a spinning rod with 6lb test on it. You're not interested in a specific species, just catching something....what are the top 5-10 lures you would like to have with you? 1. Rooster tail (white, bumblebee, and chartruese) 2. Bettle Spin 3. Rebel Craw for side casts along sure 4. bubble/float rig with a few nymphs 5. weighted woolly bugger Your turn...................................... Wayne SW/MO Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Well if you left out the equiptment then I would revert to what I did as a youngster and go with a flyrod and some poppers, streamers and a few wet fles. I suspect it would still work today because the fish are still bombarded with lures in our lakes, but seldom see fly fishing lures. My streamers wouldn't be weighted much and my wets would have some color on some. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Members kirbydog Posted April 1, 2012 Members Posted April 1, 2012 Senko, tube, spinnerbait and a topwater if the season is right.
Jack Jones Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 okay Wayne, we can go with that. What streamers? and which wets? "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
Gatorjet Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 From top to bottom: 1. Small popper 2. Rapala 3. Road Runner 4. Plastic worm 5. Small to medium sized jigs Real men go propless!
junkman Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 My choice would be; 1 assorted jig heads with 1" or 3" gulp minnows plus cork for floating them sometimes. 2 Rapala like a J-6 or similar 3 Plastic worm rigged on weighted weedless hook 4 A good popper 5 medium sized spinner bait
Leonard Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 bobber and hooks.... although most of the time they are all over the shoreline... then all you have to do is find worms/grubs/minnows, ect... jigs.. stick baits/crank baits cleos rooster tails and the PMS http://www.taneycomonights.com
Daveinozark Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 i prefer lures that won't get stuck, that's my biggest problem fishing from the banks. Definetly top water, other than winter time. 2nd choice is a spinnerbait, those do well for me without getting hung up. Third would be a weightless lizard, texas rigged. Last would be a crankbait that I don't care about losing. Rooster tails are good, but you can't cast them as far as a smaller spinnerbait.
podum Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Rebel Pop-R Rebel or cabelas brand crawfish crankbait 1/8 oz jig head with multitude of grubs/tubes Plastic worm texas rigged 1/4 oz spinnerbait I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 1 plastic worms 2 Pop R 3 roostertail 4 small broke back rapalas 5 Fluke https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
