ollie Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Great day yestrerday for fishing!! I headed up originally to fish the Shawnee CA, but didn't like the fact I had to hike into the one lake I wanted to try so it was just an inconvient side trip. Bushwhacker is only like 20-30 minutes from where I was so I decided to hit it instead. Of course by the time I got there there were already many boats in the water. I headed out first thing across the lake where I could find shelter from the wind in one of the small coves. It took a little while before I could dial in where they were, but after I did I was catching fish non stop for awhile. Nothing of size however. All the bass I caught were in the 10" range and smaller. The gills I caught were nice and fat, but I only caught a couple of them. I was throwing a chartruese pumpkin lizard. When the wind started to pick up even more (hard to imagine there, right? lol ) I decided to call it quits then around noon. I did get to see several Turkey when I was driving around. Barton county sure does have a lot of them! Oh yea, forgot to mention. Saw one boat come in with several nice keepers on stringers. Looked like a good fish fry was about to happen! "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
