My buddy (his 8, 10 and 12 year old boys) and I plan on floating Beaver next Monday (4/9/12).

We are looking to get 3 to 4 hours of fishing in that morning.

Can any of you all offer suggestions on where to put in and take out???

Also, seems the white bass run hasn't hit just yet at Beaver (based on reports on this site).

Are the other species biting???

Thank you in advance for info insight or information,

There was a place about half way that would let you launch for a fee, but someone else will have to give you that info if it still exists. You can launch on FF where it runs tight to the creek and at the DD bridge.

They are catching some whites but it has been spotty, probably because of the light getting deep now.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

A good float on Beaver is Jobe Hole to the park at Kissee Mills. It is about 3 miles and a good fishing section. To get to the put in spot go east on Hwy 160 about 3 miles or so east of Kissee Mills park to Cross Timbers rd. Turn left. Go till you get to a low water bridge, cross creek and turn left again. Go about 400 yards and turn left once again crossing another low water bridge. Beaver creek is on your left. I just floated this section yesterday and water level is good. Have Fun.

Hey Bubba, did you do any fishing, or did ya just float? I assume you paddled down and back?

Thanks guys. We will probably do the float that

Bubbas Dad recommended.

BD,

How long does that float take if we fish hard and

paddle as little as possible?

Are there any places where the water gets really

swift or dragging is necessary or logjams???

Not that it would stop us from going, but I like to be

a little more prepared than usually when kids are

going along.

Thanks again guys, this site is truly great.

We spent 6 hours Tuesday on this float but we waded and fished alot. No dragging right now and river is clear no log jambs only a couple of spots where you need any paddling skills at all. Good float for kids. We caught a lot of short bass of all kinds. Should be able to catch some whites at the end of float. Have fun let me know how ya liked it. I

When you come in sight of the 160 bridge you will also be approaching what is left of a dam. It's showing now that the water has dropped. Just so you know.

Yes the old mill dam is just upstream of the bridge about 300 yards or so. It is about a foot drop there but if you stay all the way to the right and hit it straight on it is not a problem.

Paddling back would be a chore as there is a few spots that current gets strong. We leave a vehicle at the take out spot. float down and when we get there we drive back and get the other truck.
