budman Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 anyone ever fished Richland Creek, in Arkansas. We are camping out on the Buffalo, at Tyler's Bend, and will float a day or two but also like to do a little wade fishing. We have done the middle parts of Crooked Creek and I have read some on Richland Creek and was wondering if it was possible to wade the lower section. Either access from a road or is it possible to cross at Woolum and then wade up stream. We will be there the second week of May.
Members DaveMac Posted April 14, 2012 Members Posted April 14, 2012 I too am interested in this little gem! I'm planning in early May to hike from the campground to the falls, and then make my way downstream to check out various access points - the road parallels the stream as you head towards the confluence with the Buffalo. This creek has lots of large boulders and a fairly steep drop that makes it a class III and IV rapids when there is a big rain event. So I'm thinking it will be a little different fishing - more like the Appalachian streams. Because of its remoteness, I'm hoping for a less pressured population of fish. I'll provide a report when I get back.
