Feathers and Fins Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 And when they are gone my little butt is heading out to the islands anyone else going to go play this afternoon? https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
wc1063 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 From the Weather Channel, the rain won't leave the area til about 5 PM. If that's correct, I'll see you out there.
Feathers and Fins Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 Last of it looks like its near Grove and Jay OK so im betting 2 to 3pm and it will be gone. I spent yesterday and thsi morning cleaning everything up and re-lining everything, so now I have fresh line and fresh lures tied on and will be waiting to see what the weather does. If the wind drops to below 10mph im out for certain. Im betting the Islands should blow open this evening, and after the whites i saw friday around 12 bridge im all about having some fun with them on top and sub surface. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Doesn't look like you're going to get a break. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
chi0082 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Do you guys think hwy 12 bridge would be a good area to fish from shore for some stripers? Me and my dad would like to try for some stripers from there. Or what other places (from shore) do you guys suggest? We have swim baits, bucktails, and we could get some live shad too. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks a bunch!
Feathers and Fins Posted April 16, 2012 Author Posted April 16, 2012 Its possible but not likely. The stripers have moved to deeper waters and areas that are less lending to shore bound anglers. You really need a boat to chase them on Beaver accept when they are working Bait in Prairie Creek and Avoca, once in a great while Rocky Branch will give up a few. Problem with Stripers for land based fishermen is they move around after the bait so getting on them is pure luck and chance. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
