dtrs5kprs Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Slept in and let the rain stop this a.m. then went out about 10am. Started on finesse fish about 3'-12' in coves ducking the wind. Ned rig gave up 1 keeper. Also caught a bunch of shorts on that and a smoke grub. Switched to fishing wind about 1pm or a bit after. Ran pea gravel close to main lake or on it with a blade. Same places I have been whacky rigging. Shad & wind present. Fish very shallow. 4 keepers all LM. Best 20". Short blacks spots and brownies there also. If no wind and lots of sun tomorrow hoping they get back to the plastics. There are fish in these places that are prespawn and post. Also some deep spots off the flat places.
jmes Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 Thanks for the report, I went out in the rain right around 7 to 4. I fished mainly the kimberling area and caught close to fifty fish. Most of them were Smallies and some good quality LM I only caught 1 Kentucky. I got most of my fish on the main lake had around 15 keepers. Biggest being about 7 lbs. Senkos and crankbaits
