Hit it up after work for a couple of hours yesterday- fished from 5.30PM to about 9PM.

We wanted to get on some fish before the FLW got totally out of hand. Saw a few pros out there but not so many as to make fishing difficult.

We were mainly looking for a topwater striper/white/hybrid bite. No love there....hardly any surface activity at all. Wind was blowing strong but laid down fairly well as the sun went down. Ended up with 0 Striper and a hand full of small black/spots. Also I caught my first Walleye! Just shy of 20 inches! Caught it on a 4in. Wild Eye Shad- shad color. That was a nice finish to a beautiful evening on the lake. Anyone seen much surface activity lately?

If this blasted wind will lay down a few days and the temps warm up wee should be back to surface action. I was in on it last week then the winds and cold came. I ma so tired of the wind!!!!!! You get in a great top-water bite and then it gets messed up for a week or so. FLW doesnt bother me, heck its a tournament a week on Beaver anyway I have just learned to ignore them and enjoy myself... OH ONE WORD OF WARNING... The coots are back on the lake on their way North and running 55 at twighlight with a chop on the water and you dont see the black birds till you start hearing them bounce off the boat.

Ha! Thanks for the warning on those blasted Coots. I was on a decent bite last week too but it died a quick death when the wind and cold came. Will be looking for it again next week!

I wish the wind, cold and maybe some good Ok thunderstorms would be here for the weekend just to make the show a little interesting.lol

You may get your wish... 81 for a high on Friday and then 69 for a high on Saturday with 40% chance of rain. Thur and Friday should be decent days but Saturday and Sunday will seperate the Men from the Boys. Beaver is going to be extremely tough on the weekend she doesnt play well with others after a front.
