Geoff Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 i thrown musky flies with an 8wt and it was struggling with them. they came in at about 8-10" long and they could stand to be bigger. i bought an 11wt for some od reason recently so i think im going to go after them again with that rod and a boat and some big flies. they seem like fun. Wayne SW/MO Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 There are aluminum eyes that might benefit flies tied for muskies and intended for 8 or 9 wts. They're intended for salt flies that need big eyes. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Geoff Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 The other thing is casting a big heavy rod with huge chicken flies on the end of it for many hours really takes it out on your shoulder. "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
WakenLake Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 Sounds like a blast. I was watching the next bite and they were catching em sight fishing in Canada with a fly rod. www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com
