Fellas and lady fellas,

The wife, mom, and grandma have been on my case to catch them some catfish for frying. So I thought I better get out there before they realize that they are basically telling me to get on the lake :secret-laugh: so this brings me to my question. I was thinking about grabbing the kayak and heading to table rock (more than likely bridgeport/cape fair/flat creek). Does anyone know if the cats are on the move at all? I was considering liver, catching some live bluegill, stinkbait, or goldfish for bait. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appriciated. Thanks!

yep, back of the creek arms. Especially if we get some water runnin in them. Cut perch worked for us, all you mentioned should work, but the goldfish are a rip off. Perch are as good and easy to catch.

Spoke to a guy today at Shell Knob that was running jug lines. He was catching the complete heck out of them. Perch and Crawfish, in the timbered pockets. Saw one of his jugs in a pocket and there was a cat on it. Don't know how much string he had from the jug to the bait, but he was sure catching plenty. He showed us some on a rope and in a fish box. Looked to me to be close to a 100 pounds of fish in the two places.

Now that sounds like fun,

Did those pockets so happen to be near a channel swing and deep water or shallow pea gravel stuff??

I might try the cats at Beaver.

I've never fished deep lakes for catfish, so a starting point is very helpful!

Are there any bait shops around that sell shad, crawfish, or perch? Thanks in advance

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot.

I am heading out tomorrow, weather permitting. I might throw a couple jugs out but mostly ill fish rod and reel, I will more than likely catch my bait if I want some perch prolly bring a lil liver and stinkbait, and hell maybe even some shrimp. I use to the slay them on shrimp when I fished for them more...that was mostly on Truman but I think they will still work. If I get to go out Ill let cha know how it goes.
