Members walker04 Posted April 30, 2012 Members Posted April 30, 2012 I live in Springfield, I am looking for the closest body of water to catch some smallies in. I have a john boat, and would love to find a river that could accomodate the use of it, however I am not opposed to bank fishing either. I really just want to tie into some good action with some SMBass.
TroutRinger Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Check out the James River if you want to use your boat. The MDC has a couple public accesses close to town (Hootentown, Delaware, Shelvin Rock). "Of all the liars among mankind, the fisherman is the most trustworthy." "There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore like an idiot."

Chief Grey Bear Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 From Springfield, just pic a direction and go. Find running water and you will have brownies. There numerous smaller wade creeks and float streams all around your area just waiting for you to toss a line! Now get out there and get busy!!
