David Freeman Memorial Bench

To those who were friends and acquaintances of the late David Adams Freeman, there is now a bench memorializing him on the banks of his favorite trout stream, Crane Creek.  David, who passed away November 9, 2006, at the age of 50, was an ardent fly fisher and innovative fly tier.  He was truly a Renaissance man who excelled in a wide variety of endeavors.

The memorial bench is located on the banks of Crane Creek on property belonging to the Crane City Parks Department, Crane, Missouri.  The bench faces Crane Creek and is located on the south side of the ball fields in the park.

The bench was financed by five of David’s close friends:  Tony Gianino, Tim Homesley, Steve Jensen, Dominic Meldi, and Harvey Ragsdale.  Tim and Harvey assembled and installed the bench in the park.  This memorial project is independent from other memorials created in David’s memory.

The next time that you visit Crane Creek, please take a minute or two to sit and rest on the bench and reflect on David’s life and his accomplishments.
