BadKarma Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Trolly is on the list, but I'm going on her maiden voyage tomorrow. Going on a short float on the Lower Beaver, bridge to the mouth. Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
woodman Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 A drift sock is a good item to have...as time will show the more you encounter the nuisance of the wind.... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
BadKarma Posted May 16, 2012 Author Posted May 16, 2012 Well, the maiden voyage was a complete success. I stripped the yak just in case I dumped it, but I didn't. This was the first time for me in a kayak so I wasn't too sure of the results. It was about 2 1/2 hours with only 1 spot I had to get out and walk, but that was only for about 20' on 1 riffle. I love this thing and see no more canoes in my future. woodman, I can see several floats where one of those would be useful. Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
woodman Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Glad you had a good time...How do you like the seat that is one major part of a kayak a comfortable seat... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
BadKarma Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 The seat is more than comfortable enough, but I did encounter an issue, although a minor one. Polyester shorts on polyester seat = slick. I was sliding down a bit when the seat was leaned back a bit, but adjusting it into a bit more upright position fixed that. All in all, I like the seat. and the front of the splash skirt mount works perfectly as a "fatmans" handle also. Don't worry about life, your not going to survive it anyway. Go fishing instead.
