Just thought I'd let y'all know about a new fiber company from here in Nixa. My mom, Lezley Chastain, is one of the owners, and since she gives me credit for getting her started in the world of fly tying, I figure I owe her a little bit of shameless promotions. It's the Megli Fish Fiber company, and it's made from sheep and alpaca wool. The critters are raised and sheared in Lamar, MO and then are blended and packaged in Nixa, MO. Here are the colors they offer so far, with much more to come:

mayfly

salmon

pink

blood orange

cutthroat

catfish

manatee

bluegill

not quite white

fish belly

gray

purple

yellow

Dave Whitlock was very impressed with the product. If you're interested in ordering, email lezley@meglifishfiber.com with your name and contact information and she'll contact you as soon as possible.

Do you guys have a website up yet for the product? Would love to take a look.

Always enjoy when I can buy local.

I'll take a look. A couple of important colors are missing, I think? Olive and sculpin.

I would suggest getting samples to the Taney shops. Nothing helps like a shop who has an effective pattern using a new product.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

They're still in the process of adding other colors, and they're working hard at getting enough packages made up to send samples out. I can't promise anything but my mom is pretty good at mixing them to get the right color so you might send her an email asking for your sculpin and olive colors

I just know that those 2 colors are very popular around here, beyond what I like.

Personally ginger has always been a good color for me and a touch of brown in it doesn't hurt.
