Members Terry T Posted May 13, 2012 Members Posted May 13, 2012 I don't build rods but have a question about a bunch of blanks I recently inherited. I've got about 80 fiberglass and graphite casting blanks most with the reel seat ferrules attached. Most of the graphite blanks are Fenwick and the glass blanks are Herters and Fenwick. Are these worth anything or should I just try to get rid of um on Craigslist as something for begining rod builders to practice on ? Much thanks for any help.
dave potts Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Fenwick made pretty good blanks. I suggest you check out the site rodbuilders.org. I'm sure you could sell them there and at a better price than Craig's List. There are professional and amateur builders on that site. Dave
Gavin Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Dont know if their is much demand for those blanks..Look like they screw into a metal handle...Might check completed auctions on ebay to see what they are selling for. Good Luck.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Yeah many of them are for the old handle with a collet. They could be cut of however if need be. Glass is making a mild comeback, so there may be people who would be interested. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
