Members Salty Posted May 15, 2012 Members Posted May 15, 2012 Fished all day Saturday, nothing. Backout at 5:30 Sunday AM ( Only 3 minows left in my minnow bucket out of the 24 I dropped in the water the nite before. ??? ) Went ot my favorite brush pile near Wheatland launch, Bam, Bam, Bam, three Crappie on minnow tipped jigs. Fished jigs only for another hour, no bites. I decided to troll for Walleye, tied on a "Fire Tiger" crank bait with a 3/8 ounce sinker about 20" in front of the lure. Trolled Wheatland flats, and the first point out of the swimming beach up river I boated a 20" Walleye. I made another pass through the same area, and landed a 22" Walleye. Had to head to the dock due to a family get to gather. ( I sure did not want to quit !! ) Back out at 6:30 PM to take the boat out. I decided to troll from Willow Winds over to the Weatland ramp. ( Same lure ) Was not expecting much, when the rod was damm near ripped out of my hand! Muskie on That's my storie and I'm sticking to it. Salty, The Muskie was released in good condition.

fishbait3 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 very nice Salty Now i know the eyes are there. Man i cant wait til the day i get a muskie on that lake.
MOPanfisher Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 NO NO NO, there are not any Walleye in Pomme you have to go to Stockton to fish for them. I know the exact point you are talking about and it can often hold a nice wally or two, they do hate a fire-tiger crankbait. Musky and me have a love/hate relationship, they apparently love crankbaits too and I hate it when they try to take it away from me, sometimes succeeding.
