Bassmaster21 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Fought the wind today but it turned out to be a good day. Caught about 12 bass from 12-18 inches on some topwater and spinnerbaits. Started in the channel and only caught one, then decided to move way back into the thick grass and thats where I found them. Going to try and go back on Thursday. Did see someone catch two very quickly early on a buzzbait near the boat ramp so I may have to give that a try.
gurzik Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Went today aswell, caught 6. Nothing over 2 pounds. Did you have a girl in the front of your boat? Will be going on thursday also. We should meet up
Bassmaster21 Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 I didnt that day. Went with a buddy of mine. Me and my friends useually rotate whose flatbottom we take. Maybe ill see ya out there sometime.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I'm somewhat ignorant of that lake, when you say channel are you talking about the area east of 65? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
gurzik Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Went today, and stopped counting after 10. 2 were over 4#, but most were in the 12 to 14" range. Saw a nice smallmouth past the hwy 60 bridge in about 2 ft of water, but could'nt get him to bite. Lots of people out this weekend so I think i'll wait till mid week to go back. Maybe try Fellows.
Bassmaster21 Posted May 28, 2012 Author Posted May 28, 2012 Sounds like you had a good day. Where did you catch em. East or west of 65 bridge? Wayne: I went west of th bridge. Its up by the boathouse/marina there is a pretyy good rock bluff there and i had a lot of luck there on spinners.
gurzik Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Started about a 100 yrds down from the ramp, and worked the cover on the southside. Stopped at the bluff. Then went back up river to the 60 bridge. Hope to be back out wed.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Is that lake kayak friendly? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
gurzik Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Very kayak friendly. You can put in at the boat ramp or boathouse.
OzarkFishman Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Went out this morning for a few hours. Landed 10 fish (6 of them largemouth). All were caught on various plastics. Looking back on a couple of followers that followed all the way to the boat, probably should have been throwing a spinnerbait or fluke ...
