Lifes2Short Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Zaraspook and I met for the first time yesterday and went up to Stockton fishing. Got on the lake about 5:45 and had a pretty good morning with the bass. A couple of keepers and a number of shorts. Spook had to head back to town about 10:30 and I continued fishing and got off the lake about 4:00. Continued to catch bass with another couple of keepers and one nice (20") walleye on small a chartreuse crankbait. I lost another couple of walleyes, bigger than the one I kept, right at the boat. :-( It was interesting because I caught these walleyes in the very back of a large creek channel in less than 6' of water. Most of the bass came on the shakey head with a green 4" finess worm. Had north wind all day and very sunny skies. Be safe if you are headed out this coming weekend, it will be a zoo!
fishbait3 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Hey bt. if your out thursday morning i will be out with wtr dog then we will have our gathering at State Park. so hopefully we can all meet up. i take vacation 5-30=6-9 thhere should be a few ample days of fishing we could work out during that time.
9LB Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I caught some short walleyes in the back of the coves this past weekend. I think they are heading back up in the shallows feeding on hatch. I also just noticed your email about hookin up to fish some eyes and we can do that. I have a crazy schedule and it is hard for me to plan but we will get together.
Lifes2Short Posted May 22, 2012 Author Posted May 22, 2012 Fishbait, What is the gathering at State Park? And I don't understand the rest of your message, will you be fishing on Thursday? If so what part of the lake? Let's do get together after the 30th, I should have plenty of time to fish! I think I will be heading back up on Thursday morning, anybody want to go? dennis boatman Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 ...I was on the lake Monday, and forgot to sunscreen my feet...anyway, caught a nice Walleye30 minutes into my day, and that was it for Walleye...did catch some bass, but nothing to brag about...I haven't caught a crappie in a month...only one other trailer at Hartley... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
zarraspook Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Sorry for the late entry..... I just wanted to thank btlides2short for the "shaky-head" lesson.... He put it on the spook.. the only topwater fish was a 13'er on a buzzbait... Good bass fish pardner !! "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
WakenLake Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I found a purple and clear spook by the water camping and caught a 14 incher on it. the bass cant stand those things, was catching them on poppers too. www.jordanvalleyautorepair.com
