Members plunkie Posted May 25, 2012 Members Posted May 25, 2012 Does anyone keep the fish out of springfield lake? I've heard bad things but if someone is for sure that it is fine, then I'd like to check it out more. I like to keep the fish I catch if it's good eats.
Members usmcgrunt Posted May 25, 2012 Members Posted May 25, 2012 Yeah I keep them and I haven't grown any extra body parts or gotten sick from them. In other parts of the country the lakes that have power plants near them are tested more often and watched more carefully for dangerous chemicals than other lakes, so I'd assume that's what happens with Springfield Lake. At least that's what I tell myself...
Hunter91 Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 I have kept them in the past after I had asked the MDC if it was safe to do so.
Outside Bend Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 http://gis.dhss.mo.gov/Website/FishAdvisory/FishAdvisory.html#app=414&bda9-selectedIndex=1 That link should take you to a map of the state showing the different fish advisories by water body. <{{{><
Members river angler man Posted May 27, 2012 Members Posted May 27, 2012 I keep them even though I think it's a bad idea because of how smelly and nasty the lake is, I'm not sure how that may affect the fish so I just pretend it's all good. I do cook the crap out of anything I catch though
