drew03cmc Posted October 20, 2006 Posted October 20, 2006 While I am a fan of both Bennett and Roaring, I have not been to either of the other two parks yet, and I must say that Roaring River below the concrete walkways is a pretty pleasant place to fish, although the holes being as deep as they are may have been manmade, but it was done to keep people from wading. Bennett is more circus than trout stream, regardless of how many people say it is the best place in the state to catch trout. I am a believer in Roaring River and will be trying to get down there once a month next year, but will not go to Bennett due to the circus atmosphere. Onto Montauk needing dredged. NO! That is not the solution. As jd said, better timber practices would help out as much as dredging. Maramec, come on...it is a wide park, now below the park is where the fun is at! You can get into some very nice fish below the park on the River. So, bear with the parks if you must, but if a streamlike setting is your goal, fish a river, not the parks (except Roaring River in winter)...end shameless plug. Andy
