Thanks...I'll consider the float down from Riddle Bridge instead.

I've parked at HWY 28 and floated many times, as well as done the upstream thing... It's a little rough, probably gonna have to carry your stuff a ways if you don't have 4X4 and plenty of clearance (I do, and I still carry my stuff). The stretch from 28 to Jerome is great as long as you avoid the weekend... it's packed with boaters and floaters on weekends.

Also, the float from Riddle Bridge to 28 is VERY scenic. Probably one of my favorite stretches on the river for fishin and sightseein'. Weekday only for me though. Also, I wouldn't leave my truck at Riddle Bridge for any period of time.

Awesome, this is very helpful. I'm trying to plan a float as soon as possible...Hopefully I'll manage two days but I kind of think it'll be a one day float at this point. I think based on what I'm hearing I'll probably try Riddle to 28.

Riddle Bridge to Hwy. 28 is 10.5 miles, and goes by Portuguese Point, the highest and one of the most impressive bluffs on the Gasconade. Only problem with it is that there is about three miles of godawfully poor habitat starting at the lower end of the Portuguese Point bluff. Shallow, open, coverless water all the way through that three mile section. Other than that it's excellent habitat. Just plan on it being a seven mile fishing float with three miles of paddling water.

Much appreciated. I'm used to floating the Bourbeuse so the long dead stuff is no concern...
