straw hat Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 Well, just got back from the lake. Put in at CC, boated to Shaw's Bluff and then fished our way back to CC.Water temp at Shaw's bluff was 80, at Springfield landing was 82 and at CC was 86. Only caught 1 keeper crappie south of Springfield Landing. We came home with a total of 24 keepers. Most were around 11". They ranged from 4 to 10' deep and were caught on fence rows and isolated standing timber. A few tubers (and I don't mean potatoes..lol) and a couple of jet skiers too.
zarraspook Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 In another two weeks you will be catching crappie that are all ready "par-broiled" ....... "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Members charliehorsejigs Posted June 24, 2012 Members Posted June 24, 2012 I finally got healed up enough to go to Stockton yesterday. Put in at three hills and fished the trees out in the channel. The guy I went with had been doing fairly well there but the bite had slowed down a lot this week. Ended up with 2 crappie, 1 white bass, and 3 bluegill. Even though we didn't do that well it was good to get back on the lake. Staying home all spring while everyone else was going fishing was driving me nuts. Didn't see any jetskiers in this area either. Maybe they don't like to put in there. The road to the ramp is pretty rough. It would be hard on a jetski trailer.
