Members Thomas Rogers Posted June 29, 2012 Members Posted June 29, 2012 I am looking to fish / float from the bridge in eminence to powder mill I am about three hour drive away is the river float able I see the levels are really low last three trips have been down the black looking for something different this weekend been a year since I have been down the jacks
Outside Bend Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 Drove over the bridge at Eminence yesterday- it's awfully low, but there's still a few folks floating it. Sorta in the gray area between a good float and a miserable drag. I floated Two Rivers to Powder Mill two weekends ago and it was easy going, nice trip even with a few jetboats to contend with. <{{{><
Al Agnew Posted June 29, 2012 Posted June 29, 2012 It's pretty much always floatable from Eminence down. It's flowing at 138 cfs right now at Eminence, which is enough water to make it floatable. It would have to get down to less than 100 cfs before you'd start having some really serious dragging issues. But 138 cfs is very low!
Members Thomas Rogers Posted June 29, 2012 Author Members Posted June 29, 2012 thanks for the info guys I think I am going to head down this evening and try from eminence down sure beats being at the house no matter what I have been hitting the black river about every other week time for some thing different
Members Dirtworm Posted July 13, 2012 Members Posted July 13, 2012 Floated from alley spring to two rivers on the 4th. didn't see a soul below eminence, plenty of water, too. We caught some nice small mouth, including my first on a fly rod, lots of bluegill, long eared sunfish, chub, shiners, etc. Saw plenty of nice fish as the water is very clear. It was a blessing of a day, even came up on a herd of wild horses drinking from the river as we passed by my canoe. Thanks to Windys canoe rental for shuttling our car. "Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing." John 21:3 KJV If you don't catch 'em at night, try again in the morning.
polock Posted July 20, 2012 Posted July 20, 2012 i waded just down from the city park yesterday. I was throwing a pumpkin seed yum gonzo skirted twin tail grub in 4" caught a smallie almost every cast. I had my 13 year old nephew with me, and he caught a nice one that was just under 3lb. It was his biggest bass to date, and he was really excited. i caught one right around 2 lbs, the rest were around the 10-13" range
