Kee sims Posted July 3, 2012 Posted July 3, 2012 Heading out tommoro in canoe wondering if anyone has been having any luck for bass and whats been working for them !!
Hunter91 Posted July 4, 2012 Posted July 4, 2012 After the sun comes up any area with shade on it has been the best with topwaters for us.
Bassmaster21 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Went today and had pretty good luck ( 5-6 bass in an hour or so) on black and blue bass jigs by the railroad tracks. Not much luck anywhere else though
jbtiwns30 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 My brother in law and I are headed out saturday morning. He's not big on bass nor he dosn't even know how to catch bass so I got to show him how to do it. I been using plastic frogs in the early morning and at night around 730 till 8. They been hitting it pretty hard. But I do have a question for you all. I just moved to the springfield around, well ozark, I wanna catch some crappie. Is the crappie biting on this lake now and if so what are people using? Hope to have some good pics after saturday. Good luck all!!
Bassmaster21 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I have tried for crappie out there and never had luck. (caught 3 in last 2 years) BUT... I have seen ppl catch them in the summer in front of the boathouse on spinners, road runners, and wiggle warts.
jbtiwns30 Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 ok, thanks for the info. ah, since im new and i only fished the lake part acouple of times, i dont know where the boat house is. We put in by the dock and baot ramp right by the highway 65 bridge. Is there good fishing by the old bridge? last time we went out we just took his boat up steam to explore around and we saw alot of fish chasing minnows but we couldnt tell what they were. I guess you just need to get out there to see what you can haul in and hope you catch stuff. If not, its just a big plus for being out there on some water.
Bassmaster21 Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 If you put in by the 65 bridge you would go down stream(to the left, away from the 65 bridge) and just keep going and then you cant miss it.
