GloryDaze Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 Do any outfitters run that shuttle? Planning on a Friday-Sunday trip in 3 weeks and wasn't sure if they do or not? Can't believe all the rivers I've floated but still haven't hit the Niangua.... how's the traffic in that section on the weekend? Thanks guys! Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
Goggle-Eyed Posted July 5, 2012 Posted July 5, 2012 I don't know of any shuttle services that do Prosperine to Lead Mine, it is a very long shuttle since they are on opposite sides of the river and no easy way to get there. I just heard a rumor that Mountain Creek (campground beside prosperine) does offer shuttle to Bird Island (below lead mine a couple of miles). I haven't floated that section of river for several years so I don't know how it is but it is usually kept opened up by the Cherry Mountain church camp. Joe
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 It is long, you literally have to go back to the outskirts of Lebanon. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
MoSportsmen Posted July 6, 2012 Posted July 6, 2012 Mountian Creek might take you out at the dam, but you have to talk em into it and it is a 25 mile float. They are not wanting to use bird Island anymore. That part of the river is not serviced. That is why I want to do it so bad. Been having trouble finding people that want to do the distance and camp on the river to get it acomplished. Tom Messing about in boats

GloryDaze Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Thanks oneshot, I will give them a call. I figured someone would run that stretch. Follow me on Twitter @DazeGlory
Wayne SW/MO Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 I would ask that my vehicle be kept overnight and wasn't moved to Lead Mine until Saturday Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Goggle-Eyed Posted July 7, 2012 Posted July 7, 2012 X2 on What Wayne Said. I usually use the upper access with the ramp if I am leaving my vehicle overnight and use the lower access if I have someone meeting me there. I am making the float starting about 7:30 in the morning. I have my fingers crossed the weather stays decent and the fishing is awesome!!! I will post report next week! Joe
