We went on our first camping trip of the season on June 29th at Cedar Ridge, in tent only area. And stayed till Monday. Was a great time, just was HOT!

Saturday, my boy started fishing early, and by 1pm he had caught 8 bigger than your hand blue gill. I fished for about an hour and half and caught 5. What bumfuzzled me was we were catching them in hottest part of day.

So we went out in my dads small boat and tied up to the bridge piller in shade about 6 on Saturday evening. My wife caught a total of 15 big perch and a nice catfish. We caught a total of 27 perch that evening in hour and half. Needless to say, I was cleaning fish way past dark. I prefer a electric fillet knife, but since we didnt have any electricity at site, I used a regular old fillet knife. I got agrivated so many times. But had lots of nice fillets when I was done.

Sunday, evening we sat down on bank and fished for catfish at night. Fished from 9 till 1:30am. Caught 2 nice cats. Wife caught a 5 pound blue and I caught a 3 pound channel. If you have never heard of Secret 7 catfish bait, I recommend it. We had lots of bites and missed several cats. I believe is was the hooks that I bought. We were using just single J-Hooks and I wish now that I would have gotten the treble hooks. Probably would have caught most of the fish that we missed. They would run with the bait, but we would jerk it out of there mouths. You had to be quick on the draw.

All in all great camping/fishing trip. I personally, have never caught big perch like that at Stockton. Table rock yep, but not at Stockton.

There are a LOT of those big perch on stockton....

When I drag a nightcrawler on points for walleye; I will catch 10 of those big perch to one walleye..

They are an aggravation when you are walleye fishing but, they are good when you need fish for supper.....

Nice report - - Thanks
