Jim passed away Friday afternoon. The story told me is that while fishing below the dam at Taney, he felt sick. He walked up to his truck and was sitting on his tailgate when a gentleman from Tulsa, a Mr. Epperson, noticed he did look good and asked him how he felt. He answered he thought he was having a heart attack. Epperson called 911, got Jim in his vehicle and started for town. They met the EMT's half way, got Jim out of the truck but he was already gone. They tried to revive him but could not.

Jim had planned to fish with Lincoln next weekend in the YMCA benefit on Taney. He was 53.

Life is short people. Our time here is only a vapor compared to eternity.

I will post service time and place as soon as I find out details.

My condolences and prayers for his family and friends.

The last two times I have been to Taneycomo, the EMS have been called to assist with someone having a problem in the restriction zone. And I don't make it down that often. Is there by any chance a emergency use phone located in the parking lots? I have not looked.

Correction - it happened in the morning, not afternoon.

I didn't know him, but sorry to hear about this. Prayers and condolences to his family for sure.

Am I not correct that there is an emergency phone at the "lower" parking lot? I try to always carry my cell phone in case something like this were to happen. Surprisingly, I get good reception there. Can't say the same for Norfork tailwaters.

Prayers to his family for this tragic event. Phil you are so correct that life is very short in the scheme of things.

My prayers go out to his family. I'm sorry to hear of this, and yes our time here is so short. Always remember to enjoy each and every day and be sure to tell your loved ones just how much you care for them. You never know when it will be the last time.

I'm very sorry to hear about Jim. I was speaking with him a week ago about his salmon fishing trip in Canada.
