Members Big Bay Outdoors Posted July 27, 2012 Members Posted July 27, 2012 I have just recently moved back to the Ozark area and wanted to find other men that were interested in a Christian based outdoor group. Something where we meet once a month to eat, fellowship and discuss things that interest us in the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping, golf, clay shooting, archery, and anything else. It would give local men an opportunity to meet other locals that enjoy the outdoors. It would be targeted toward men, but not limited to them. Our mission is the outfitting of men for Jesus, helping them become better husbands, better fathers, and ultimately, the men God intended them to be. Plenty of men focus on building a career, a reputation, and a stable financial future, but find they have little to offer in the way of character or Christian commitment. We believe that men bear a responsibility to lead a family, not just to provide for their needs. Our personal legacy starts when we give ourselves as a servant to those who look to us for guidance. We long to inspire generations of men who will leave a legacy worth continuing… faith in Jesus Christ, and of responsibility as a man. We would have things like the following: Men & Boys Camp Outs Wild Game Hunts (deer, turkey, hog) Family Retreats and Couple Retreats Fishing Trips and Tournaments Wild Game Banquets Skeet Shooting and Tournaments Bird Hunts Waterfowl Hunts Father/Daughter/Son Canoe Trips Golf Games/Tournaments and anything else you can think up!! If this is something you are interested in, leave a comment. Good or bad (just be respectful). Thanks for reading..... Big Bay Outdoors "Home of the FREE, because of the BRAVE"
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 27, 2012 Root Admin Posted July 27, 2012 I think there's a group of ppl down here in the Branson area that are exploring a church plant using some of those ideas. There's a church in the St Louis area that's grown pretty large that focuses on the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Anyhow, I think it's a good idea. The only issue is for those of us that are committed to our own churches and other activities, carving out time for another group (in my case at least). But I'll support this effort on the website all I can.
