Fished a bit at my local haunt tonight. Guess what? Water is lower! Didn't seem to bother the fish none, but I'm draggin' more and more everytime I go out. Anyway, I pull up to my put in spot and somebody has put a 3ft plastic santa claus in the river and filled it with rocks so it'll stand upright. . . call me a grouch, but I yanked it out...

Fishing was good, they seemed to really like my little green trick worm on a shakey head, and caught a good one on a 4" senko wacky rigged. Caught a number of fish in less than a foot of water on a bitsy tube as well. Seemed like the bigger fish were hangin' back in the deeper water behind structure in current and the smaller fish were in current eating crawdads.

Also, a large tree branch broke free and crashed into the river about 50 ft from my boat. I've never seen one collapse like that, but it sure did make a sound.

Good thing I wasn't underneath it.

Lastly, some guys were using a bobcat to clear a sandbar of trees and stuff while I was there, and before I left, they managed to almost drive it into the river and get it quite stuck. So, the fishing was pretty decent, but the entertainment was excellent.

Sounds like fun...but be careful..The Lorax might have a hit out on you! That or he missed the jackwagons doing the recreational bulldozing...Report that to DNR & MDC.

You think I should? I assumed that they were just clearing off their land and got it stuck. Is there a violation in there somewhere? (I'm not super informed on wildlife code).

That could be a violation...I've had more than one good spot destroyed by gravel miners.

I'll make a couple calls. Can't hurt to ask.
