Jeb and I launched at 0545 and fished until noon. Pretty decent day numbers wise, 30 bass, with a handful of keepers, but nothing over 2 lbs. There was a fairly good bite on the FB jig early in the 15-25 FOW range, a few also c-rigging worms. Then later in the morning the drop-shot started working for us, with a few also coming on the c-rig. A couple on spoons. No walleyes - not that I'm complaining

Saw the State Patrol boat out there today, center console Donzi with twin 225 Mercs. Would have loved to have that boat back when I fished saltwater.

Glad you had a good day on the water QB. I was actually stopped by that water patrol boat last year. I guess they wanted to see what kind of person had a tin boat with a 75 HP tiller. They were very polite and quite complimentary that every thing was in order.

Their boat is impressive, and you can tell they love cruising in it.

We did have one out, but it was yellow, so no hassles (so far) over it. Been using the marker quite a bit lately, and also the sonar.

The state trooper seemed like a nice guy. I'm sure they do love tooling around in that Donzi, since we're filling the tank for them! I asked him what the topend was. He said he gets asked that question a lot. I said I bet you do with all that HP on the back. He said it was good for about 60mph. Surprised me, figured it'd be higher than that. But it is a pretty heavy boat.

We threw a little bit of everything at them yesterday. In addition to what Jeff listed, we also used shakey heads and a little topwater stuff, too. Jeff tried a crankbait for a while too, but no takers there.

They were up as far as far as the Bridgeport bridge one night last week with their twin Mercs. right at dusk. Saw me and turned around and headed back south. Last time I saw them that far north was in April.
