Have several of these around my place. Sour tasting fruit, trees seem to be 10' at the tallest. Anyone know what it is?

Might be some kind of crabapple or sour cherry. Are the leaves serrated or double serrated? If double serrated ( each tooth has another tooth) then it is likely some kind of sour cherry. I would say more likely to be a crabapple. Be careful tasting fruit that you aren't sure of.

yeah it looks like a variety of crabapple. should flower white or pink in the spring. most are grown for decoration and not their fruit as it typically isn't very tasty.

Wild plums. Flower is small and white in the spring. Bark on base of tree is slick and dark. Does not get very big and spreads like wildfire.in the yard with sprouts. More pit that fruit, big seed?

Makes good jelly.

From the leaf shape, it looks to be an American Plum, instead of the Hortulan Plum.

They become pretty thick in the wild and deer love to hide in them.
