Members stlskyline Posted August 23, 2012 Members Posted August 23, 2012 I usually fish out of the park on the Current, but this past weekend I decided to stop and check out Lane Springs as I always pass it on the way back home on 63. I thought it was a nice looking place and campground, but have never fished it. I wallked to the creek right above where LaneSpring enters. I've noticed that Twin Springs is above the camp ground and have a couple of questions for anyone that has or does fish it. Are there trout from the campground on down? Don't have to get specifi, but how far would you suggest to fish down from Lane if wading? What tpe of flies would u suggest? I think I might camp for a few nights and hit Mill Creek to switch it up for a morning or afternoon. I hope we get some rain so the no bun is lifted. Can't think of sitting at a campground by myself and having a few beers I the dark.
Gavin Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 I'd camp at Lane...nice CG...plenty of little spring seeps between 63 and Lane Spring..beat the bush on down to the creek and fish as much creek as you are willing too...roam around. Crayfish are very abundant in that creek. Lots of little gold & black ones...some bigger olive & brown ones...No need for small flies..Have fun.
