DChance Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I am pretty exclusively a bass fisherman and fished Pomme plenty, but never for crappie. next weekend we are going to take the kids out for the first time to fish in the boat and would like to find some fish. preferrably crappie to keep and eat, but bluegill would be fine too. Need some help on where to find some crappie for the kiddos. thanks Also, where is a good place around pittsburg to get minnows. (probably will be what we use)
Ranger520vx Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Have' not been down for a few weeks. I to fish alot for bass but also do alot of crappie fishin to catch fish to eat. The crappie fishin has been good for us on brush piles in 14 to 24 fow using shad colored 1/16 and 1/32 oz tube jigs. May have to move around some as some piles are better than others. Good luck to you and the kids, ,maybe see ya on the lake next weekend. Scott
fishbait3 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Went out saturday for half the day and all we caught were baby bass on jigs and cranks. Worst day probably ever had. went to alot of new areas since we couldnt get much bite where we normally fish from.
shockley32 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Crappie are great on brush and the trees. I've been fishing brush like Scott said, and trees in 12-25 feet of water about 10 feet down. The bite has been real lite and you really have to pay attention. Good luck! Brad Have your visited Limitville lately?
