John Andrews Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Well Friday sucked so bad at work, I decided to hit my favorite bass spot. Brought in 5 total in two hours and the best was this 15 incher. Man that was fun on ultra light equipment. I watched him swim away to fight another day.

Jack Jones Posted October 11, 2012 Posted October 11, 2012 What body of water? And what were you catching them on? "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
John Andrews Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 Springfield Lake, on a top water heddon torpedo. Frog pattern http://www.lonestartradingpost.com/heddon-torpedo-in-frog-scheme/ It was about 5 pm and I spotted some shad jummping like crazy. Tossed the lure into the missle of the school and did a few short jerks. (very short about 2 seconds apart) and wham. He hit it so hard he cleared the water. caught 4 more smaller bass along the rock cliff near the dam. The bass in the picture was caught about 30 yards south of the park boat launch. He is still there, I release all my fish unless they are injured and within legal limits.
John Andrews Posted October 11, 2012 Author Posted October 11, 2012 I also been catching a good amount of smallmouth on the James. Using a fly rod and some home tied top water flys. Now if I could only get a largemouth to hit on a fly rod THAT would be a fight.
